All of our cakes are customized and made to order – this means that pricing is dependant on size, flavour, and design complexity. Please see the Pricing page for starting prices and serving sizes.
Mimsicle Cakes is a custom cake studio based in downtown Toronto, by Bay & College. We are a boutique operation without a storefront where every product/service is highly customized and always made to order for your special occasion.
Most of our work and consultation is done via email, so please get in touch via email [email protected] or by using our online form! Photos are very helpful in the design process, so please feel free to send these through. Once we have provided you with a quote, a 50% deposit will be required within 2 days to secure your booking, with full payment 2 weeks prior to your event. For bookings made with less than one month notice, or with a value of less than $200, full payment will be required. We do not make tentative bookings. Bookings are only confirmed once a formal quote is received and deposit/full amount is paid.
Cakes are booked on a first come, first serve basis. For wedding cakes, it is recommended that you get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In particular, peak wedding periods (March-May and Sept-Nov) tend to book out 6 to 8 months in advance. For smaller cakes, we typically require 4 weeks notice.
Yes, delivery can be organised in advance and is subject to availability. Delivery pricing is based on distance from the Mimsicle Cakes studio and starts at $25.
Yes, cake pick up is available from Toronto M5G 2J9, with timing to be agreed upon in advance. Cakes are packaged with care to ensure minimal movement during transport, however, unless delivery is organized, we are not responsible for any damage to your cake after the cake has left the premises.
For pick up orders, we recommend that cakes be transported on a flat surface in your vehicle (the floor or boot space) with the air conditioning on. Cake should be stored in the fridge, especially prior to any transport and brought to room temperature (around 45 minutes – 1 hour) prior to serving.
We do both Fondant and Buttercream cakes! All of our custom cakes are either filled and covered in buttercream or draped in fondant. The type of cake depends on the client’s request and what is best to achieve the desired design.
All deposits are non refundable. Any major changes to your order less than 7 days before the required delivery date may incur a fee to cover the reworking of the cake design and/or loss of work already completed on the order. Cancellations require a minimum notice of 7 days prior to the pickup/delivery date.
Yes! Fondant figures can be saved as keepsakes if stored properly in a cool and dry place to avoid condensation. They can also be frozen if stored in an air tight container to avoid condensation when defrosting.
All cakes are made in the same kitchen where nuts, gluten and dairy are present. We do accommodate special dietary requests/substitutes at a surcharge. Please inquire via email [email protected] or use the contact form.

Due to food safety and insurance reasons, only the Mimsicle Cakes team is permitted to dress the cake. We are happy to work with your florist to have them supply the florals for the cake prior to the event.
Cakes, cupcakes and macarons should be removed from the fridge and brought to room temperature about 1 hour before serving. This is because cake layers taste better when they are soft! Leftover cake will keep well for about 5 days in the fridge when stored properly in an airtight container. Cakes can also be stored at room temperature in a closed container for up to 2 days.
